Network Marketer: Be A Leader

Many individuals come into network marketing dreaming home based big money business dreams. However, overtime the dream begins to fade after they have heard the word no, too many times. This is where the top network marketing achievers come in, because they are the visionaries. Top network marketing achievers are leaders. They see the big picture, and they help the team see the picture, with all its colors, smells, and magic. Like the title of one of network marketing’s history books top network marketing achievers embody, The Dream That Will Not Die (Conn, (1996).

The minute a network marketer gets his or her first recruit he or she has a greater reason to work harder. That network marketer is now a leader with someone to encourage and with whom to share the vision. That is what leaders do.

In the leadership classic titled, On Being Coming a Leader by Warren Bennis (2003), one can find the basic ingredients of leadership. These basics apply whether one is working in a traditional organization or if one is working a home based big money business like network marketing. Listed below are some of Bennis’ (2003) leadership basics.

The first basic in leadership is a guiding vision. Top network marketing achievers know what they want to do professionally and personally. These leaders persist through setbacks and failures.

The second basic ingredient is passion. A leader loves his or her home based big money business and loves doing it. Some call it enthusiasm, but no matter what one calls it, a leader cannot wait to start everyday doing the activity that will give him or her the outcome he or she desires.

The most important ingredient of leadership is integrity. Leaders know themselves. They know their strengths and weaknesses. They are honest with themselves and face their problem head-on. If they have to change to succeed, they do it. They do not pretend to be something they are not. They work as hard as everyone on their team does. They say what they mean and mean what they say. Integrity is the basis for trust; trust is a by-product of integrity (Bennis, 2003).

Curiosity and daring are also basic ingredients of leadership according to Bennis (2003). Paradigms shift and technologies change and only through leadership that is curious and daring can positive change take place. A leader’s curiosity keeps him or her pursuing new ideas and technologies that will improve their home based big money business efforts. Top network marketing achievers are daring and curious leaders who learn new things and pass the information on to team members.

Personal Leadership

If one were new to network marketing, or not performing at the level one would start with personal leadership.

1. Are you a good follower? Are you working your network marketing business the way you want should, and doing the things your leadership (upline) is recommending?

2. Are you treating your business like a business or just a hobby? If you are not serious about your business and treat it as an after thought then expect your family, friends and down line to do the same. Devote time to your business every day. One hour every day is better than one full day here or there.

3. Are you taking responsibility for your businesses outcomes? Do you talk to one person a week and expecting to build a team? Remember the numbers facture, become open to using technology to communicate with larger numbers of people. Think out of the box, and remember to curious and daring.

Leaders start within by being the kind of team member they would like to lead. Remember if one cannot follow, one cannot lead. One must have passion for ones product, company and network marketing. Top network marketing achievers love their company, product and network marketing. Top network marketers know nothing happens in America until someone sells something to someone else.
